Caroline Reel
Singer-songwriter Caroline Reel who hails from Silverbridge, South Armagh has
an unmistakable funky country style—where country vocals meet hints of folk, rock,
blues and even reggae. Caroline’s genre-crossing sound never fails to surprise and delight.
Her most recent single ‘I Had a Little Drink’ is a proper jiving number, guaranteed to get listeners on their feet. This followed two other singles in recent times, “My Old Man” (recorded in Nashville) and “I Want You to Tell Me.” Her debut album “The Waters of Life” (2019) and earlier EP “Standing Still Feeling Free” (2012) marked her as a powerful voice in the Irish singer-songwriter scene.
Caroline has been lending her voice to Palestinian Solidarity Groups for the past two and a half years, performing in Dundalk, Newry, Navan, and The Mournes. She has written a number of songs in solidarity with the people of Palestine, with her track “Calling for a Revolution” becoming an anthem for local solidarity groups.
Caroline regularly performs in intimate settings across Ireland, including The Spirit Store Dundalk, Boyles of Slane, County Meath and Spells of Ballaghaderreen. She has also taken her music to the Netherlands with gigs in Amsterdam and Haarlem.
Caroline is set to release a new single ‘Walk on By’ soon and plans to set up a home recording studio where she hopes to record the many songs written, but yet recorded.
She looks forward to many more ventures with Over The West Online Radio, of which she is an artist family member.
